Human Connection & Digital Detox: 10 Must-See Exhibitions at Milan Design Week 2026

With the design world descending on Milan Design Week 2026, the conversation has moved beyond the purely aesthetic. This year, we are observing a pivot toward "Mindful AI," sensory sanctuaries, and the restoration of physical connection in a hyper-digital age.

It’s April again, which can only mean one thing – Milan Design Week 2026 is just around the corner. As the world’s largest celebration of design and creativity, the city transforms into a living exhibition, where immersive installations, brand showcases and unexpected pop-ups set the tone for the year ahead.

What began in 1961 as a modest furniture fair has grown into a global phenomenon, drawing  more than 350,000 visitors to Milan over six days.

Milan Design Week is centred around the Salone del Mobile, the flagship furniture fair organised by Italy’s leading furniture industry body. Running alongside the Salone is the Furiosalone, the more experimental, citywide counterpart that emerged in the 1980s.

Here, the city itself becomes the stage – from architecture and technology to fashion and art, installations around the city offer a glimpse into the ideas shaping the future of design, spotlighting both emerging talent and some of the world’s most influential names.

Across Milan, here are ten must-see events that will define the conversation for the next year in design:
