SketchUp for Desktop is a collaborative, intuitive 3D design and modelling application used by architects and designers internationally. The application allows users to model efficiently, customize workflows, extend functionality, and create stunning 2D-4D deliverables.

TDC developed an integrated communications strategy for Trimble SketchUp in the EMEA region targeting architects, interior designers and students focusing on five key pillars: Press office, thought leadership, events, media partnerships and band ambassadors.

2023 highlights include a long term partnership with Dezeen tapping into their unrivaled audience within architecture and design.

Building on an existing relationship with Dezeen, TDC proposed a media partnership and podcast series that would launch in tandem with Milan Design Week for greater exposure.

Working with SketchUp and Dezeen, TDC organised and oversaw an intimate dinner with the Dezeen Awards judges at Milan Design Week 2023, hosted with SketchUp.

The partnership was multifaceted featuring a podcast series developed in collaboration with Dezeen, profiling spokespeople within the SketchUp business, alongside industry experts on key industry concerns and innovations that drive a better and greener design future.

The series included revowned designers and architects such as Tom Dixon, Sebastian Cox, Siv Helene Stangeland, Make Architects, Shawn Adams and many, many more.

The podcast launch was strategically published just before Milan Design Week encouraging those visiting the fair to listen en-route to MDW 23.

The dinner took place at Tom Dixon’s restaurant, The Manzoni, in Milan featuring a mix of influential faces from architectural and design backgrounds such as Patrizia Moroso, Rosana Orlandi, Amanda Ferber and Tom Dixon himself. This was a fantastic opportunity for SketchUp to network with like minded industry professionals sharing observations and discussing future aspirations for greater change within the architectural, construction and design worlds. The evening itself was steered by a carefully curated conversations menu that leant into the topics which were featured within the first Dezeen podcast episode.

As a result SketchUps podcast has been downloaded over 10,000 times shortly after launch. The client was able to forge strong relationships with key industry influencers that has built further brand awareness through a series of editorial content on Dezeen’s website that was published over the course of May reaching more than 3 million readers.
