Personal Specifications
We are looking for a full time Senior Account Manager with strong public relations experience who is outgoing, driven, committed and enthusiastic. This is an opportunity for a passionate and ambitious professional to make their mark, become a significant leadership
figure in the business and help in keeping a firm hand on the tiller as we grow.
A good understanding of the UK media, PR strategy and methodology is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a personal passion for the creative industries and a minimum of five years experience in an in–house or agency PR role, ideally relating or connected to the sector’s core to the TDC business.
Role Overview
The senior account manager (SAM) plays a critical role within the account team, requiring the ability to think both professionally and proactively across all elements of the job: from client handling and self-education about the sectors in which the client(s) operate; practically – from time management, future planning and account fee structures; creatively – from campaign ideation to execution; and strategically – proactively identifying and using tools and approaches to achieve and exceed personal, company and account objectives.
As an experienced member of the team supporting the Account Directors and management team, the SAM will often be the main day-to-day point of contact for clients, ensuring the smooth running of the account(s) and leading by example to junior members. It is an opportunity to hone and refine management and mentorship skills over junior members and reinforce skills for strategic thinking and client counselling. The SAM’s job is to build strong client relationships and co-ordinate with internal teams to deliver on and exceed the clients’ objectives. They will demonstrate good business thinking and identify new opportunities in which to grow accounts.
When identifying and presenting challenges and issues, the SAM will simultaneously consider solutions to the presenting problem. To excel in this role, SAMs must be tenacious, results-driven, highly organised, display creativity and sound problem solving skills, and can work calmly and productively under pressure. They are persuasive communicators and negotiators and can inspire a junior team.
Specific to this role at TDC, the SAM will be personally motivated by the design, innovation and creative industries world, and – throughout their career – will proactively take continuous measures to enhance their understanding and learning of this sector in order to help inform their creative and strategic thinking.
